Now that you have done your search for you and with your friends and family about what you are good at. What problems do you solve for those near you? Hold on to that answer.
You already know your passions. Check that.

You need to make a business model that includes whatever answer you have to solve the specific problem.
Let me give you the example you need through me.
I help women to find themselves and show them their strengths. When she sees what I see in her, we start building a business for her where she can find economical and financial freedom and the happiness is the following tail as a bonus. Don’t even get me on the time freedom they get to enjoy with family, friends and their hobbies.
My passion and call in this life are to help.
What problem do I solve? I give clarity to women who want to build a business but don’t know what to do, which step to take.
My business model? Coaching, guide them on a one-on-one to the real them and guide them to start their own business.
Do you understand how to merge the solid things in your life into your business ground to build it?
Take the Problem You Solve
What problem do you solve? Is it an in-demand problem that people are in search of? Or can you fit your solving powers into an in-demand problem?
Have you asked the ones you helped WHY your help/solution solved their problems? How has it helped them?
As I did mention in the previous post that your ideal client is based on you.
BUT, here comes the juicy part. You can get testimonials from everyone around you that you have helped. Ask for your friends for testimonials that have been on the receiving end of your services.
Because this will strengthen your hand for your future clients to trust you with. Most of us work with many different types of clients to make money, wrong or right, but this helps you to sharpen your skills and makes you understand who you DON’T want to work with.
When the clients and money starts to roll on your way, you can pick and choose your clients the way you want to.
Hang Where Your Clients Hang
To get in touch with your client you need to open an online account(s), the ones you believe that you can manage to control and be consistent with.
Why online account(s)? Because people need to find you.
Now that you know your ideal client. Where do they hang out? Instagram? Facebook? LinkedIn? Network events? Fairs?
You need to be where they are.
Depending on your client you need to BE there and make yourself noticed.
If you are in an event you can ask a good question to the person who is giving the talk. Just raise your hand and ask something that is relative to the subject but also gives away what you do.
Let say you are at a Tony Robbins event about personal development (don’t know if he has Q&A time but let’s say he has) and you raise up your hand to ask something.
You could ask “I am a health fitness coach where I help new female college graduates to lose the weight they have gained during college, but they have a problem to do the required workout during their periods when the hormones are crazy, and they get into self-doubt. They can’t seem to motivate themselves. How would you recommend me to support them emotionally and get over this hormonal swing smoother?”
I am just winging the question now, but you understand me. Your question has the necessary information about you.
- You are giving away that you are a health coach.
- Your ideal client is clear, newly female college graduates who have a lot of weight to lose.
- And you look smart and brave to ask a question to the guest (if there is an opportunity for this)
Those who fit into this description will be approaching you regarding your services.
You can use this tactic anywhere with anyone. Just cease the moment and do not disappear behind anyone or anything when it is time to chat on breaks. If you want to earn money, they need to know you are there.
You need to set SMART goals for your business which will be a whole other blog post, but you also need to be SMART about your communication with your current and future clients.
SMART is a way to plan whatever you want in your life or business.
S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Achievable
R – Relevant
T – Time Bound
To be successful you need to “master” as much as you can the way you are approaching your client. This could be;
- Be obsessive about one marketing platform and rock it
- Be consistent with promoting your stuff in different Facebook Groups, Pinterest, events, local networking event etc.
- Start a mail list and try to gather as many people as you can to your mail list to BOND with them.
- Know how to close a selling conversation where your possible clients are more than willing to buy from you
Be there for them and Give Yourself For FREE
Now you might be confused about how giving away for free and earning money go hand in hand.
You need to give give give to your audience to receive their money. Here’s how it is.
If you give away the best possible information that you have FOR FREE people will be amazed and grateful for the information you give and they will be intrigued to join your coaching, academy, whatever you sell because will be thinking “If (s)he is giving away this information for free, then I can’t imagine what else (s)he knows and will be included in the paid service”.
This is the best possible way to sell yourself.
But there is also a humble soul and someone I trust, her name is Lindsay Maloney. She is a mother of three, works a fulltime job from home but also keeps up with her successful coaching business. I mean she does it all!

So if we are going to sum this baby up I would say the following key steps will do.
- Identify your solution, what problem(s) do you solve
- Know your ideal client to the teeth
- Make yourself visible by having an online platform(s)
- Hang where your ideal client hangs online or offline
- Be SMART about your moves and your business
- Give your BEST stuff for FREE
- Never lose your passion and drive. There will be tough times. DON’T GIVE UP!
